Get Involved
Our established Neighborhood Watch is a cornerstone of Crown Estates and Crown Meadows community safety. It’s not just about crime prevention, it’s about staying alert, staying informed, and looking out for each other.
What Watch Members Can Do
1. Watch for anything suspicious
If you see something unusual, like a stranger hanging around or an unknown car driving slowly through the neighborhood, report it. Call 911 for emergencies. For non-emergencies in Redding, call 530 225 4564.
2. Make it known that you are part of the Watch
Use a window sign or yard sign if you have one. This shows that our neighborhood is organized and paying attention. People are less likely to cause trouble if they know someone is watching.
3. Stay in touch with your block captain
Block captains help keep communication going. Let them know about any concerns. They will also pass along updates from the rest of the group.
4. Take part in meetings and events
Neighborhood Watch sometimes holds training sessions or meetings. These are a good way to learn what is going on and how to be more prepared.
5. Say hello to new neighbors
When someone moves in, let them know about the Neighborhood Watch. This helps build trust and makes sure everyone is on the same page.
6. Check on neighbors who might need help
Some people in the neighborhood may be elderly or have health issues. Keep an eye out for them and let someone know if you see something that seems off.
